Xanga has changed a bit since I've been blogging elsewhere.
I don't really feel like putting all the details of my life out here. It was tough last October when my husband suddenly left me. However things have been getting better since the New Year.
I'm in love with a musician. A rock n roll guitarist. A blues bass player. He loves to hike up mountains and ski and snowshoe in the woods.
I am one of the people in the country without health insurance now. It's kind of scary. And I only work 2 days / week at a retail-type job. So I've had to start thinking a LOT differently about money. I have savings and 401K and pensions, but definitely not enough to support me if I'm going to live a nice long life and keep spending the way I've been spending. I don't want to go back to a full-time job - and in fact there ARE no full-time jobs in this area that are appropriate for me, so I'm going to have to change my relationship with money. In a big way. Somehow.
I'm still dyeing wool, hooking rugs and knitting. Of course! Currently I am felting a pair of slipper clogs for my youngest son. I just measured his foot so that I wouldn't felt the slippers too small. My baby son's foot is almost too big to trace on a piece of 8 by 11 paper. I guess I shouldn't think of him as my baby son any more.

I'm bringing Xanga back - drop a comment if you're with me!
Usually I don't blog here anymore.... but I have no photo this time. Just a sad story for today. Went down into the basement and smelled something funny. Turned into the laundry area and WATER everywhere. It was coming from the furnace. So.. today is Sunday, but a storm is predicted with 7 to 14 inches of snow (it's April dammit!), so gotta get it fixed. The furnace maintenance guy is here at last (after talking to him on the phone, Wayne said, 'it'll be a little while before he gets here while he sleeps off his hangover"). It'll cost something like $300.
I don't understand it - I have this furnace maintained every year. I just had an indirect water heater added to it in the past 6 months. How can it just develop a gaping HOLE?
